The Marvel Knights. Defenders of their neighborhoods. Vigilantes of the streets. To them, altruism shouldn't come without a degree of brutality, and morality exists somewhere on the long spectrum between stark black and white. They do not Avenge; they are not graduates of any Higher Learning school; they are not Fantastic, nor are they very Friendly. They protect and serve, using their own methods. They work outside of strict law and order. They kick ass.
Who are considered Marvel Knights? Here you go, from Marvel.com's wiki. That list isn't exhaustive, but it's a great starting/reference point. In general, if a Marvel character is considered "street-level," then they fit the criteria of the designation, and of this shoot. Typically, they are your anti-heroes or urban heroes.
Oh, and, of course, what's a fight without people to hit? Villains are more than welcome to join the action. And, despite the "lone wolf" reputation of many a Knight, allied characters, such as Foggy Nelson, are welcome to attend. If you have any questions as to who can fit into this shoot's theme, feel free to ask.
Photoshoot Group Name: Marvel Knights
Location: Hilton Patio
Day / Time: Tentatively Saturday from 8 PM - 9 PM. If that's too late or inconvenient for the majority of prospective attendees, we will move up an hour to 7, and end at 8.
Director: sociologies (me, aka Socies)
Photographer: Mark Shafer
Duplicates policy: Character duplicates allowed up to 2. Should we have more than one version of a given character, we will rotate those duplicates out in a manner that is most convenient for the duplicates and shoot. 3 is the absolute maximum number of duplicates allowed; the shoot is an hour, and there is a lot of ground to cover, so though being able to include as many fellow fans and costume versions as possible is great, getting through shots and set-ups in a more streamlined manner is even better. With the exception of members of The Hand (the more, the merrier, there), only one of each character, no matter the version, will be in each shot.
Character versions: 616 comic versions are most ideal, with a slight preference toward contemporary costume versions only for context, but all comic eras are definitely welcome (so, if you have disco Iron Fist, for instance, you're in). Other multiverse versions (1610/other comic Earths; movies / MCU; video games, recognizable original variants, etc.) are also welcomed, with a preference toward official costume versions. In short, though there is a specific comic "visual context" desired for this shoot, getting as many characters involved as possible is ultimately more important. If you have any questions about whether or not your character version/costume can fit, please, just ask.
Pictures and Directions to Primary Location: The primary location is the popular, coveted Hilton Patio at the Hilton con host hotel. It is the same location pictured in the above sample photos from 2013's shoot. From the Hilton's main, street-level lobby entrance, the Patio is a straight shoot through toward the back of the floor. You'll reach a carpeted lobby hall with windows and glass doors on either side of the hallway. The Patio should be accessible from either side, and we will be set up at whichever part of the Patio + set of steps is vacant at the time. Look for Marvel Knight costumers, and you'll be good. I will also be in the carpeted lobby to help channel Knights toward the shoot site.
Backup Location (in case of adverse weather): For convenience in such an event, we'll simply go up the Hilton to the 5th floor. Being indoors on the hotel floors is definitely not the best place to be, but it'd be the closest location to the primary without incurring as much traffic as the Marriott or Hyatt.
