I'm hardly around anymore, focusing on writing, but anyway - this year I've made 2 costumes: Moonstone as Ms. Marvel which is pretty common since it's the same as the red/black Carol Ms. Marvel version. But I liked Moonstone's personality a lot in Dark Avengers so that's what it is.
Most obscure though is Planet Gigantic's evil sorceress Queen Neva. It was my first real foam project (I've only really done small belt buckles before). I made the helmet and pauldrons out of cheap foam sheets. Looking at it now, I would've made the pauldrons much more bulky, but they worked. And I got to hang out with the co-creator/writer Eric Grissom at Superhero Weekend and he was super excited to it. It was the first cosplay of one of his characters. It's a great all ages sci-fi adventure comic if you're in the market for something fun (from Action Lab).
Besides foam, it was only my 2nd time dying clothes. It wasn't exactly right, but I managed to get close. I made some changes like the neckline, some creative liberty with the staff, and made the skirt from mostly scraps.

I'll be walking around NYCC as Leslie Knope on Saturday. If you spot me, get pics & say hi!
