As I mentioned in the Introduction thread, I spent about a year making my living as Doctor Doom at Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios Orlando. As such, I
cannot claim credit for the Doom costume since it was made by Universal Studios, but I thought y'all might like to see the pics anyway. The villains (Doom,
Green Goblin, Boris, Natasha, etc.) were pretty much removed as characters in the park since they were becoming a security risk (you might be surprised at how
many people want to beat up Doom!), but they're occassionally called into service for special events.
All the "armor" (including the full head helmet/mask) was made of heavy-duty plastic and strapped onto a silver spandex unitard. Each shoulder, gauntlet, arm, and leg was a separate piece. The gloves and boots were regular ol' work gloves and boots painted silver. The cuffs around the boots were separate pieces that velcro'd around the ankle. The cape and hood were separate pieces and snapped together (which was tons of fun when some kid pulled the cape from behind you and snapped your head back... how does Batman do it?).
