Didn't see a good place to put these, so I'll follow Hero Dreams lead and create a thread here. I assume the mods will move it if it belongs somewhere else.
While other photographers and directors got to wrangle great masses of SCF members and non-members at the big DC and Marvel Universe shoots on Saturday and Sunday, Allen's assignment for me was more manageable: be available to shoot portraits of individuals and small groups during the subgroups shooting period lading up to the mass Universe shoots on the steps.
As I didn't have a set place to be, no one knew where to find me, so nobody did. So I just started grabbing people who weren't actively involved in a subgroup shoot and getting them to pose for portraits. I got no turn downs, although I had to do the occasional cajoling.
For the DC Universe shoot, I alternated between shooting against the skyline, and in the graffiti-covered filthy back stairs area. For the Marvel Universe shoot, I set up against one of the big columns under the overhang out of the rain on the big shoot side of the enclosed walkway, got booted by Allen who needed the space for group shoots, and relocated to a similar column on the other side of the walkway. No animosity towards Allen for moving me - he was doing the best he could with a tough situation. I would have likely done the same thing in his place.
As a result the DC portraits are more atmospheric, and the Marvel portraits are more elemental.
I'll be organizing the shoots into sub posts by the Universe shoot in which they occurred, as opposed to the universe of the characters. I shot some crossovers each day.
This is finally done. Yay me.
